Rodale Kids is a new imprint from Rodale Books—the premier destination for the best in wellness content across multiple platforms and age groups.


Rodale Kids is dedicated to publishing fun and entertaining titles that nourish the imagination, encourage a lifelong love of reading, and motivate good habits of nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, and environmental responsibility.


The inaugural list will debut in Fall 2017 with content aimed at ages ranging from infants to teens and including fiction and nonfiction picture books, early reader titles, chapter books, how-to nonfiction, gift reference, and Young Adult fitness and self-help.

Our Team

Gail Gonzales, VP Publisher

Gail Gonzales

Gail is the Vice President and Publisher of Rodale Books. Previously, she was the Associate Publisher of Rodale, and prior to that, Director of Integrated Marketing at Simon & Schuster, where she worked across the company on various non-traditional book marketing and event initiatives with parent company CBS and other entities. Prior to Simon & Schuster, Gail was the Marketing Director at Hay House, where she oversaw marketing, publicity, and programming of unique online assets such as Hay House Radio, live online events, and live streaming of large-scale conferences. Prior to her publishing career, Gail held positions at corporate financial and sports marketing firms. Gail is a graduate of the College of Communication at Boston University and a native of Washington, DC.  She currently resides in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan.

Jennifer Levesque, VP Editorial Director

Jennifer Levesque

Jennifer joined Rodale in June 2013 as VP Editorial Director, overseeing the editorial department and working with Gail Gonzales to shape the trade list. Previously, she worked at both Abrams and Hyperion, editing books in a wide range of categories including diet and fitness, cooking, self-help, sports, parenting, humor, and general lifestyle. In her 22-year career, Jennifer has worked with many esteemed authors such as Alexandra Robbins, George Carlin, Oprah Winfrey, Mollie Katzen, Warren Brown, Laurie Kilmartin, Melissa Gilbert, Dr. William Davis, Dr. Thomas Campbell, and many others. A native New Yorker living in New Jersey, Jennifer is also a big fan of the Mets, the Jets, science-fiction movies, musical theater, and long Saturday morning runs.

Yelena Gitlin Nesbit, Executive Director, Strategic Development & Communications

Yelena Gitlin Nesbit

Yelena joined Rodale in 2008 and in her role as Executive Director of Strategic Development & Communications, she helps shape the list, identifies new business opportunities; creates impactful media campaigns, manages internal & external communications around Rodale books and authors, and collaborates on creative, results-driven marketing and social media initiatives. During her time at Rodale, Yelena has worked on campaigns with such New York Times bestselling authors as Thug Kitchen (Thug Kitchen cookbooks), Dave Asprey (The Bulletproof Diet), Harley Pasternak (The Body Reset Diet), Vice President Al Gore (Our Choice book and app), Alicia Silverstone (The Kind Diet and The Kind Mama), former FDA commissioner Dr. David Kessler (The End of Overeating), among many others. Yelena also works with our in-house brands on their books and organizes coverage for our non-branded titles at the magazines. Prior to joining Rodale, Yelena served as Associate Director of Publicity at Bloomsbury USA where she worked with New York Times bestselling authors and luminaries such as Chelsea Handler (My Horizontal Life), Chef Marco Pierre White (The Devil in the Kitchen), Susanna Clarke (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell), New Yorker writer Elizabeth Kolbert (Field Notes from a Catastrophe), and New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast (Theories of Everything). Yelena began her career at Viking Penguin. Born in Belarus, Yelena immigrated to Brooklyn with her family in 1980 and never left. On any given weekend, you may find her loving/hating a Bar Method class or enjoying a long, brisk walk around Prospect Park with her daughter.

Eric Wight, Creative & Editorial Director, Rodale Kids

Eric Wight

Eric Wight is the Creative & Editorial Director of Children’s Media. In this role, he oversees Rodale Kids, a new children’s book imprint focused on helping kids reach their fullest potential, and inspiring them to improve the world around them. Working closely with Rodale’s adult trade publishing team, he is responsible for the acquisition, development, and production of a diverse range of fiction and non-fiction books for children and teens. Before joining Rodale in January 2015, Wight was an award-winning content creator in the fields of children’s publishing, animation, television, and mobile gaming. Prior to receiving his BFA in animation from the School of Visual Arts, he studied as an animation trainee with the Walt Disney Company. This led to opportunities with Disney, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, HBO, among others. He is the author and illustrator of Frankie Pickle, a chapter book series published by Simon & Schuster, and has illustrated over two dozen books for children for such publishers as Macmillan, Random House, and Abrams. Wight resides in Bucks County, PA with his wife and kids.
